Ahwatukee Foothills Community Homes

Ahwatukee Foothills homes are not only some of the best in the Phoenix area, but give the feeling of being outside of the bustling city – the best of both worlds. Ahwatukee is a suburb of Phoenix, one that was annexed over a period of 10 years between 1978 and 1987. Because of South Mountain and South Mountain Park, Ahwatukee (previously known as Ahwatukee Foothills Village) is almost entirely cut off from the rest of the city, and as a result often considers itself to be separate from the rest of Phoenix. This the city of 85,000 and all Ahwatukee Foothills real estate a sense of belonging to a much smaller community, despite the fact that it is easy to access the city of Phoenix itself.

The town of Ahwatukee is almost entirely self-sufficient, and has a wide variety of amenities for residents including parks and schools. From Kyrene Cerritos, Kyrene Monte Vista and Kyrene del Milenio elementary schools to Desert Vista and Mountain Pointe high schools, the town has a strong tradition of academics. Both of the high schools in the area are run by the Tempe Union Public School District, which posts some of the best overall test scores by students in the state. This access to public facilities is not only convenient, but gives Ahwatukee Foothills real estate a significant boost in value.

Prices of Ahwatukee Foothills homes vary depending where in the community you would like to live, but run the range from $55,000 bank-owned homes to three-bedroom homes for $172,000 or four-bedroom homes with pools and scenic views for just over $450,000. Because of its location near South Mountain, Ahwatukee Foothills is able to offer some of the best views in the Ahwatukee or Phoenix area, along with great home values and long lists of amenities.

The city has a large number of activities to enjoy including Hiking in South Mountain Park, cycling on Pecos Road and the hills of Ahwatukee, as well as golfing at any of four courses that can be found in Ahwatukee’s borders. The town is warm and sunny, receiving only 12 inches of rain per year, and rarely seeing snow. Ahwatukee Foothills homes are some of the best in the area, and feature a combination of great schools, great prices, great weather, and the advantage of living close to Phoenix without living too close.
